Monju-Do December Days
Saturday December 7th, 1:30-4:30 pm Samu
In Zen buddhism, importance is placed on working for the community. The work is done in the spirit of generosity and devotion. This voluntary work is known as samu and is done with a contemplative attitude. Come build shelves to store the zafus, in addition to other small tasks to support our dojo. Light refreshments and conversation to follow.
Sunday December 15th, 4:00 (Zazen) 5:30 (Potluck)
Get to know other members of the sangha! This event is a chance for fellowship and conversation, and to discuss Zen if there is a desire to do so (not required). Bring a dish to share!
December 23rd-Jan 4th, Holiday closure
Enjoy time with family and friends this holiday season. Our last practice together for 2019 will be Sunday December 22nd. We will reopen Sunday January 5th.
Finally, be on the lookout for a newly designed website. We will make a formal announcement to launch the site at the beginning of 2020. In the meantime here is a preview: www.zenbrooklyn.org
